Advisory Commissions
The City of Lowden is a unique blend of farms, homes and commercial businesses, offering small town history with the conveniences of modern living. The City of Lowden has a variety of established boards and committees within it's community. Board and committee members receive no financial compensation, but add great value to our community. Members of boards and committees also meet other residents with similar interests, learn about the City of Lowden's history and play a key role in shaping Lowden's future. A good relationship between Lowden City Council, boards and committees is essential, ultimately, City Council establishes City policy, but it is the City Council's role to receive the recommendations made by a board or committee, and to consider their input as part of the decision-making process so that the city can continue to grow and flourish.
Please keep in mind participation on a board or committee does require significant personal commitment and time, but is a very honorable commitment to your community and City. If you are interested in becoming a member of a board or committee, please let the mayor, council or city clerk know and they will be happy to provide you with additional information.
